I feel like they don't know what to do with Nangong Yuqin.
One moment she seems to remember her feelings for Tan Yun and then she suddenly wants to kill his friends? This writing feels so inconsistent. If she really wanted to make up with Tan Yun, this episode, when she was being chased, she missed hundreds of opportunities to just lure the girls to a secluded area and give up without fight.

Right now it feels like her story is heading towards doom, but of course we can't forget that there's most likely going to be a random ass plot twist and change of heart and she will be spared, because you can't really kill off the wife of the main character, right? Unless?

But she didn't really remember it. It's just that her heart hurt when she stabbed him. Then when she found out that he saved her she was confused and upset, but Tan Yun is still a stranger to her...and an enemy. She only resolved to try to find out their past together and to be honest, even if she discovers their past together...because she and her side killed a lot of Huangfu sect people...in a treacherous way...Tan Yun and Huangfu sect want the other side dead. Tan Yun also feels the powerful need to slaughter his enemies! He literally can not let this go. Also, Tan Yun is slowly putting himself in a position to become the heir to the Sect Master, so he would NEED the support of the disciples, another reason he can't let go.

What you don't really get from the donghua, (which you really get by reading the novel) is the reason why Tan Yun is such a bloodthirsty monster with no mercy and no quarter for his enemies. The reason is that in the past when he was Hongmen Supreme Lord (a god!) he was betrayed and killed because he was too nice! This not only caused his own death but also caused the deaths of literally millions of his friends, followers and his supporting generals and their armies. While for those followers, they all really loved Tan Yun since he was so good to them. So, he got betrayed and it was his nice guy attitude that got him killed. Tan Yun's heart is tortured every day when he thinks about all of the suffering his friends and followers endured because he was a naive idiot. He swore to never be so naive again! That is why he is merciless and cruel.

Tan Yun gave up on that idiot.

I would really love to believe that, but in the grand scheme of things, I can't really see that being a possibility.

Nangong Yuqin is believed to be the reincarnation of Tan Yun's wife, Yu Qin, from the time before he was betrayed and murdered by fellow Supremes.
The way they set up her character in the beginning of the show, when she was taken away the cultivator proclaimed "Even the current prince of Huangfu Dynasty is not eligible to marry miss."

--all that makes me believe she is one of those characters that might look to be in danger, but actually has plot armour.

But I haven't read any novels or source material, I am purely speculating based on my own feeling, so I'm just speaking out of my own ass.

She's not the reincarnation of Tan yun's wife if I remember correctly... it's the master of the pill division.

Feel free to correct me anytime πŸ‘βœ¨

It's been so many episodes of this show that I totally lost track whether they've confirmed that Nangong Yuqin is the reincartaion of Tan Yun's wife, or if it's just a speculation that we are deducing from the information provided.

Even if she is not the reincarnation, she is still important because she was going to get married with Tan Yun until she was basically abducted and presumably also had her memories tampered with to forget Tan Yun just like he was forced to forget all about her.

I honestly don't want this bish in the harem memory lost shouldn't have her like this

Me either.... have to go revisit ep 1 just to see her og form again

edit:
She was definitely cuter back then and her voice was sweeter so I'll approve of her harem acceptance if she retains og form

now she looks like a dyke'er roid rage version of her past self, bound to fall victim to a head wound causing her to go cock crazy for TY at any moment

travisdan • 9 months ago

She refused to accept because she don’t see him as powerful enough. She accepted the enemies of tan Yun when she literally back stabbed him. On another note, I think tan Yun lost his purpose in these past episodes.

BenjiT • 9 months ago

Fr Tan Yun should just forget about her.

she needs a buff in accuracy, missing quite a lot there for a target moving in a straight line
